P1 pattern work. Busy little bees.
10th Jan 2026
The Primary 1 children are consolidating their AB patterns and are now beginning to focus on ABC patterns through a range of engaging, hands-on activities. They explore these patterns by using concrete materials, sorting and sequencing objects, and creating their own repeating patterns with colours, shapes, and everyday resources. Through active learning, the children are encouraged to talk about their patterns, explain what comes next, and check their work, helping to deepen their understanding. These practical experiences support confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in early mathematical thinking.
