  • T he excitement is building and the frocks are being dusted off for this great night out!! We are almost sold out for the night. Our parents and local businesses in Ballinascreen and beyond have been extremely generous buying tables and donating prizes. Overleaf are some of the wonderful raffle prizes to be won on the night. We also have a beautiful gift bag for each of the ladies and other fabulous random spot prizes.

    I’m sure you have heard by now…

    There is massive excitement about our new AR prizes. Mrs Donnelly made herself very busy ordering all sorts of goodies for KS1 and we sent Mr MacÍomhair to the GAA store to get our KS2 goodies. All the funding from these wonderful incentives came from the school disco. Mrs Donnelly, Mrs McAlister and Miss McCrystal made up a beautiful display so children can see their options for trading in points!! KEEP READING!

    Thank you for the massive response to the shoebox appeal. You will have put a smile on a lot of children’s faces this year.
  • Rose was so engaged in doing her Accelerated Reading Quiz on her latest book she did not even notice that this photo was being taken. The impact of AR has been huge. Pupils carry books about and read any time they have a spare minute. We are so delighted that our pupils are developing a real… Love for Reading!
  • It’s getting near to that time of year again when we get out the tinsel and tea-towels and our pupils help you get into the festive spirit, whilst delivering the true message of Christmas!!

  • P1 and P2 Nativity – 11th December @ 2pm This year at St. Columba’s the P1 and P2 pupils will take part in a Matinee Performance on Friday 11th Dec in the school Assembly Hall at 2pm. The show will be called ‘Hey Ewe’ so watch out for a few very funny sheep!

    P3-P7 Christmas Concert – 16th December @ 7.30pm – The P3-P7 Christmas Concert will be an evening production as usual. We are very grateful to St. Colm’s GAA for providing us with the venue. The concert will begin at 7.30pm. We have a great evening in store for you. School will be closed to all pupils until 11am the next morning. As the staff clean the GAA Hall after the night before, all the angels and shepherds have a well-earned rest!

  • This year we have a wonderful treat for all our pupils. We have decided to take our P4-P7 pupils to The Grand Opera House in Belfast on the 1st December to see Snow White. We hope that this is an amazing experience for our pupils!! On the same day P1 – P3 are being treated to a Magic Show and treats in school.

    P6 had fun at the Recycling Magic Show at The Bridewell in Magherafelt but really took home some important messages on how to look after our environment!
